Iran foreign minister says ‘Iranians never bow to pressure’ Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has pushed back against US actions, saying Tehran will not yield under pressure as tensions continue to mount. Posting on X, Araghchi said “Iranians never bow to pressure” and questioned whether recent US moves were deliberate pressure tactics or the work of “a spoiler once again duping POTUS into another quagmire”. He added: “Every time a diplomatic solution is on the table, the US opts for a reckless military adventure.” Araghchi also said Iran’s missile stockpile and launch capacity have reached “120%” of pre-war levels, citing a US media report that suggested Tehran retained more of its arsenal than previously believed, following the US-Israeli bombing campaign. The comments come as Washington awaits a response from Iran in ongoing efforts to end the war. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said he expects to hear from Tehran later on Friday. Every time a diplomatic solution is on the table, the U.S. opts for a reckless military adventure. Is it a crude pressure tactic? Or the result of a spoiler once again duping POTUS into another quagmire? pic.twitter.com/ev7dMIebNB May 8, 2026

Whatever the causes, outcome is the same: Iranians never bow to pressure. pic.twitter.com/ev7dMIebNB
